New webinar: what does the ECF mean for your school?

Book now to find out more!

Find out about ECF reforms and check that you are taking steps to meet statutory guidance.

Have you recruited an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to start in September, or is there the possibility of you doing so? Last September saw the national rollout of the Early Career Framework (ECF) reforms, a key part of the Department for Education’s response to 22% of NQTs who qualified in 2015 leaving the state sector two years later.

Join us for a free webinar, to bring you up to speed on the implications for your school. Pose your questions and have them answered by organisations who have supported schools to deliver ECTs’ statutory entitlement this year.

What the webinar will cover

  • What you need to do if you appoint an ECT
  • Choices for schools in relation to the ECF
  • Case studies of how schools have implemented the ECF reforms
  • Changes to the existing processes
  • Funding and staffing implications
  • How to register your ECT(s), Induction Tutor(s) and Mentor(s) and when this needs to be done
  • Q&A.

Why you should attend

The implementation of the ECF affects how we plan our staffing, with the new roles to support ECTs requiring protected time and training. Even if you have an ECT this year, you may not feel completely confident with the revised statutory guidance for induction, and associated processes. Additionally, we have been feeding back to the DfE on this year’s rollout and have the latest updates to share with you.

Who we are

Teaching School Hubs are centres of excellence for high-quality, evidence-informed professional development. As part of this, we provide DfE-funded training for ECTs and their mentors, as well as acting as Appropriate Bodies. This webinar will be jointly hosted by the Julian Teaching School Hub, Inspiration Teaching School Hub, and colleagues from Norfolk County Council’s Appropriate Body.
