Welcome

Hello induction tutors and mentors! And welcome to this Early Career Teachers Programme newsletter.

We come to you today from the King's Centre in the heart of Norwich where we're delivering ECT Conference 2 to a fabulous bunch of colleagues:

While we appreciate the flexibility of hybrid delivery, there really is no substitute for being in the same room as our peers, able to network and learn from each other in a less formal atmosphere.

We were recently invited by Ambition Institute to speak to other delivery partners about our innovative conference model. It was great to  be able to share Emma's hard work and creativity with other teaching school hubs, and see them be inspired to innovate themselves.

Please read the rest of this email carefully: it contains important information.

Reminder

ECT or mentor staffing changes may affect our delivery to your school of the ECT induction programme. Please ensure that:

  • You let us know of any changes by completing this form (you will need to complete the form separately for each change you wish to make). You can complete this form at any time throughout the year.
  • You have updated Manage Training for Early Career Teachers
  • You have let your Appropriate Body know.

PLEASE READ THE SECTION OF THIS EMAIL THAT CORRESPONDS TO WHEN YOU/YOUR ECT BEGAN THE PROGRAMME.

Please also check out the news items below.

Focus on... Wellbeing

We'd like to remind you that we have a wellbeing page on our website, where you can find resources and tips to support teacher wellbeing, from ECTs through to leadership.

Linked on the page is our Padlet of useful CPD and wellbeing resources, which you can also find here – we recommend bookmarking it for future reference.

Please do remind your ECT(s) that there is wellbeing support available from the Julian TSH as well as from their school.

Spotlight on... EEF: new trials recruiting

The Education Endowment Foundation has launched more education research trials that are recruiting schools in Norfolk to take part. These include trials in early years, primary, secondary, and post-16, and several have incentives for schools to take part.

If you want a comprehensive explainer as to what's involved in participating in a trial, you can find that here.

If you'd like to hear from a teacher who's actually done it, you can do that here.

Check out all the trials currently recruiting in the article linked in the news feed below.

Focus on... NPQs

We anticipate that the next cohort of NPQs will begin in November 2026, and we currently believe that the funding arrangements will remain the same as in the most recent cohorts.

We like to plan ahead, so if you're considering applying for an NPQ in the next cohort, please let us know. By completing this form, you're making sure that you'll be among the first to receive more information as we have it, and you're helping us determine which qualifications are most in demand so that we can look to run them in November.

Find out more about NPQs here.
