Welcome

Hello! And welcome to this Early Career Teachers Programme newsletter. We hope you're not too swamped trying to navigate an extremely short half term.

Last week we learned that the Julian TSH has retained its teaching school hub status for a further four-year period. This was by no means guaranteed, so we are delighted at the outcome - and would like to thank you for everything you do to support our work: we see it and we appreciate it.

Please read this email carefully: it contains important information.

Coaching for Mentors
Mentors have been (or will be very soon) contacted with an invitation to sign up to this valuable part of the programme: one-to-one or group coaching from an experienced facilitator. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about what makes an outstanding mentor.

PLEASE READ THE SECTION OF THIS EMAIL THAT CORRESPONDS TO WHEN YOU/YOUR ECT BEGAN THE PROGRAMME.

Spotlight on... StepLab

We are delighted to let you know that Ambition Institute has created four StepLab training videos: for induction tutors; for mentors; for first year ECTs; and for second year ECTs.

We know that navigating StepLab can be tricky, and often a barrier to full engagement with the programme. We hope that these videos will help answer your questions and make engaging with the programme a much smoother process for all participants.

If you have concerns about using StepLab, we recommend that you watch the videos first; then if you still have questions, get in touch.

Focus on... You!

Here at the Julian TSH, we love to celebrate our participants - and we love sharing examples of excellent practice!

We're looking to speak with outstanding mentors, to create case studies of examples of best practice in supporting an ECT or trainee teacher.

If you think you could help other mentors improve, don't hide your light under a bushel: get in touch with us and tell us what you do and why it's effective.

If you're an induction tutor and you work with a mentor that innovates or excels, we'd love to hear from you too.

Get in touch!
