Welcome

Hello! And welcome to the final newsletter of 2025 – we hope you're feeling festive. The Julian TSH team had our end of term celebration yesterday, and it was a very civilised affair. Here is some candid footage:

We hope that your end of term is similarly dignified. And if it isn't, we won't tell anyone.

BREAKING NEWS!

We have just published a new blog as a companion to our Supporting Teachers with ADHD post: Supporting Teachers with Autism. These pieces are part of our ongoing work to better understand and support the teachers on our programmes. You can read both posts in the blog feed below.

And finally...

Just because we say it a lot, it doesn't mean we don't say it from the heart: thank you for everything you do to support both us and – far more importantly – the teachers in your schools. We see you and we appreciate you. Merry Christmas!

Keep in touch

You can follow us on Bluesky and LinkedIn, sign up to receive this newsletter – or just drop us an email.

Spotlight on... StepLab round up

We've shared a few StepLab updates over the course of the term, and thought it might be helpful to pop them all in one place:

  • We know that some of our schools on the ECT programme also use StepLab for whole-school CPD. We asked StepLab to create a guide to navigating this dual usage, and they kindly obliged. You can find it here.
  • Steplab knowledge base: Stepping in for a mentor. Find out how tag team coaching works, here.

  • Ambition Institute has let us know that induction tutors no longer receive their weekly StepLab engagement reports by default, as of September 2025. If you find these reports useful, you can still opt in - find out how here.

Focus on... Winter wellbeing

We know that not everybody loves this time of year, and that darker days and longer nights can leave us all feeling flat. Here are some articles and resources that you may find helpful:

  • Finding the light: coping with grief at Christmas.
  • When global events and relentless bad news become too much.

  • Navigating your mental load at Christmas.

  • Worried about winter? 10 ways to thrive.

  • Download the Do Good December calendar - carry out a small act of kindness every day.
