NPQ funding

The DfE recently announced plans for funding for NPQs in autumn 2024. Please read the information on our website carefully, and contact us with any questions you may have!

PLEASE READ THE SECTION OF THIS EMAIL THAT CORRESPONDS TO WHEN YOU/YOUR ECT BEGAN THE PROGRAMME.

Spotlight on... Signing up for September

If you are employing an ECT starting their induction at your school in September 2024, please ensure that you complete the following steps:

  1. Choose your ECT induction programme provider and let them know that you wish to register with them - they will need to contact DfE and let them know. You can find out more about the ECF-based induction process here.
  2. Choose your Appropriate Body (AB) and let them know that you wish to register with them. From September 2024, local authorities will no longer be providing AB services. If you wish to join the Julian TSH AB, please contact us to request a service level agreement.
  3. Identify your induction tutor and make sure they have access to the DfE online service, Manage Training for Early Career Teachers. You can do that here.
  4. Register your ECT(s) and their mentor(s) on the DfE online service, Manage Training for Early Career Teachers. Your school's induction tutor should do this; they will be asked to specify your AB and your ECT induction programme provider.
  5. When your chosen AB confirms, register your ECT(s) on ECT Manager. Induction cannot begin until you have done this, and your AB has authorised the registration. 

You can complete steps 1-3 now or as soon as you know you will be employing an ECT!

The DfE online service is due to open for September 2024 registrations on 24 June, so you may complete step 4 after that date.

 

Focus on... Training for new mentors

If you know that you have a colleague who will be mentoring an ECT from September, who has not mentored an ECT before, you can now book them onto their first conference:

Mentors:

  • Mentor induction conference: 9,11 July (they only need to attend once).

Focus on... Webinar for induction tutors

Ambition Institute are pleased to annpunce that they will be holding an early Registration and Onboarding webinar for Induction Tutors on Tuesday 25 June 4.30-5.30pm.

The webinar will:

  • Outline the roles and responsibilities of the delivery partner, lead provider, and appropriate body for your understanding
  • Guide you through MyAmbition account set up and the onboarding process
  • Provide an overview of StepLab, demonstrating key features and navigation
  • Answer your questions!

All active induction tutors will be sent an invite this week and we ask that you please share with any new, unregistered induction tutors using this link.

January 2024 starters

Mentors:

  • Mentor conference 2: 18, 20 June; 3 July (you only need to attend once).

  • ECT clinic 3: 10-13 June 4-5pm, online.

ECTs have been added to the relevant clinic date and will be sent joining instructions. They can also check their clinic information on MyAmbition, under 'My Events'.
