Welcome

Hello! And welcome to the Julian Teaching School Hub teacher induction update for Induction Tutors and Headteachers.

We're approaching Progress Review time again, with the due date being 21 March. We really appreciate your efforts to get the reviews submitted by the deadline. Our AB Leads read every single report that you submit - that's 450+ reviews - so having them available in a timely fashion is super helpful. If you know you'll be late submitting a report, please do let us know so that we can plan accordingly.

Read on for information about spring NPQs, some useful reminders, and our new "ask an AB" series in our News section.

As ever,  thank you for all you're doing to make our ECTs feel welcome and supported in the profession.

Spotlight on... Spring NPQs

We have now emailed all schools that are eligible for NPQ funding for this cohort - but if you aren't sure if your setting is on the list, drop us an email and we'll let you know.

This spring, the Julian TSH is offering the following NPQs:

  • NPQSL: perfect for current and aspiring senior leaders such as induction tutors, the NPQ in Senior Leadership will develop your knowledge and build your confidence as a leader.
  • NPQLTD: ideal for current mentors (whether of trainees or early career teachers), the NPQ in Leading Teacher Development will provide the knowledge and insight to make classroom teaching in your school the best it can be.

Applications for our NPQs are open now; find out more, including how to apply here.

Please bear in mind that even funded places on NPQs are capped nationally, so don't delay.

Need to know...

We understand that not all schools have templates for lesson observations, action plans, or personal support plans - so we've created some for you. You can find these, as well as handbooks, policies and other templates, on ECT Manager: simply log in and on your dashboard go to Resources and then Current documents.

If you need information or a document not listed here do get in touch, and we'll be happy to help.

Article series: Ask an AB

As your AB, we're always looking for ways to demystify the induction process, so we've begun a new series of articles called Ask an AB.

You can find the first two posts below, in which we explain how a reduction to induction works, and bust some myths around personal support plans. Please do share these widely - they can be found in the News section of our website, easily identifiable by their own graphic.
