The East Cambs & Fenland Evidence Network is delighted to continue to bring high-quality educational speakers to our rural area in 2025-26.
We welcome teachers, support staff, senior leaders or anyone with an interest in education working in Cambridgeshire and nearby, including King's Lynn and West Norfolk and beyond. Join us from the slightly earlier time of 4.30pm - 6.30pm. Enjoy good food, network with friends/new faces and browse the book stall, before hearing from an inspiring speaker.
Evidence Bites #9: Formative Assessment Strategies for Every Classroom with Kate Jones
Wednesday 12th November, 4.30pm - 6.30pm, at Neale Wade Academy, March, PE15 9PX.
Kate Jones is an experienced teacher, author and trainer with expertise in assessment. In her talk, Kate will explore a range of evidence-informed strategies to support the teacher and student with their next steps and progress. Kate will explore five core formative assessment strategies that are applicable across all subjects, ages and key stages.
The session will provide a wealth of practical ideas, examples, and techniques to support both teachers and school leaders. The key strategies covered include creating and communicating clear learning intentions, different methods to elicit evidence of understanding and long-term learning, effective question design and delivery, actionable feedback techniques to move learners forward, tips on how to activate students as instructional resources for one another and how to encourage students to become self-regulated learners.
