Focus on... NPQLT

Applications for the spring cohort close on 10 January 2023.

The NPQ in Leading Teaching is a new qualification based on this framework from DfE. The Julian Teaching School Hub is offering the NPQLT in partnership with the Teacher Development Trust (TDT), with both autumn and spring cohorts.

The NPQLT is designed for teachers who have, or aspire to have, responsibility to lead teaching in a subject, year-group, key stage or phase, such as: Lead Practitioner, Senior leader, Phase Leader, Faculty Leader, Subject Leader, Classroom Teacher. Modules include how pupils learn, adaptive teaching, implementation, and more.

Facilitated by our own Deputy Directors, trained by the Julian Teaching School Hub and TDT, the course is a blend of flexible online learning, online discussion, virtual workshops and face-to-face workshops, for a few hours study each week over 12 months. This is followed by an assessment where you will complete a 1500-word case study assessment to demonstrate your understanding of real leadership and change.

You will benefit from facilitator and peer support as you develop knowledge and understanding of how to apply the evidence on what makes effective teaching, learning curriculum and assessment. Your school will benefit from a skilful and research-informed professional who can lead a team’s improvement in teaching, learning, curriculum and assessment.
