Focus on... NPQLTD

Applications for the spring cohort close on 10 January 2023.

The NPQ in Leading Teacher Development is a new qualification based on this framework from DfE. The Julian Teaching School Hub is offering the NPQLTD in partnership with the Teacher Development Trust (TDT), with both autumn and spring cohorts.

The NPQLTD is designed for those who have, or aspire to have, responsibilities for leading the development of other teachers, such as: Lead Practitioner, Senior leader, Initial Teacher Trainee/Early Career Teacher Mentor, Phase Leader, Faculty Leader, Subject Leader, Classroom Teacher. Modules include designing and delivering effective professional development, and more.

Facilitated by our own Deputy Directors, trained by the Julian Teaching School Hub and TDT, the course is a blend of flexible online learning, online discussion, virtual workshops and face-to-face workshops, for a few hours study each week over 12 months. This is followed by an assessment where you will complete a 1500-word case study assessment to demonstrate your understanding of real leadership and change.

You will benefit from facilitator and peer support as you develop expertise in supporting initial teacher training and early career teachers, as well as the wider development of all colleagues across the school. Your school will benefit from a skilful and research-informed teacher development professional who can lead the golden thread of initial teacher training, early career development and ongoing professional learning.
