Improving KS2 Outcomes: get involved

A message from the RISE East of England team.

The East of England Teaching Exchange is a regional, collaborative initiative designed to improve Key Stage 2 outcomes and ensure children are ready for the next stage of their education.

Funded through the DfE's RISE programme, this partnership brings together schools, Trusts, dioceses, local authorities, and subject hubs to provide a network opportunity within the East of England, offering free, practical support for Year 6 teachers, subject leaders, and school leaders that can be applied immediately in classrooms

Our Aims:

  • Raise Year 6 attainment, particularly for disadvantaged pupils
  • Increase awareness and uptake of support from Teaching, English and Maths Hubs
  • Build a sustainable, region-wide professional network beyond the initial programme

How the Network Works:

  • A collaborative, partner-led approach guides all planning and delivery
  • A programme of free, expert-led webinars and online training is available throughout the Spring term and hopefully beyond!

A dedicated microsite acts as a one-stop hub for:

  • Event listings and registration
  • Downloadable classroom resources
  • On demand webinar content
  • Leadership development opportunities
  • Highlights from Teaching, English and Maths Hub offers.

An East of England steering group have put together a series of online networking and training opportunities which are free of charge to all participants and aimed at Senior Leaders, Maths/English subject leaders and Y6 teachers across the East of England (each session is repeated on 2/3 alternative dates).  Our intention is to operate more sessions in the second half of the spring term, the dates for which we will distribute in February.  We have also set up a website for the network enabling school staff to sign up to the appropriate network. We will also use this site to share network information and resources.
