New: Pupil Premium spending analysis report
News from the EEF.
Earlier this month, the EEF published new analysis of schools’ Pupil Premium statements and spending. The research, conducted by Verian on behalf of the EEF, analysed 1,255 published Pupil Premium strategy statements from schools across England to better understand how they are spending their Pupil Premium funding.
Key findings from the report include:
- Most frequently cited challenges facing disadvantaged pupils were English and literacy attainment, attendance and social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing.
- Schools allocated more budget to targeted academic support and high-quality teaching and less to wider strategies.
- Schools’ spending decisions generally aligned with their reported challenges.
- Schools most frequently cited evidence from the EEF.
