Spotlight on... NPQLT

Delivered in partnership with the Teacher Development Trust (TDT).

What's in it for me?

The NPQ in Leading Teaching is ideal for anyone who has, or aspires to have, responsibility for leading teaching in a subject, year group, key stage, or phase - for example, Head of Subject, Faculty Lead, Phase Leader.

The course covers themes such as weaving together curriculum, assessment, and adaptive teaching to lead coherent improvement; professionally developing others; and understanding the evidence underpinning the Early Career Framework, effective teaching, how pupils learn - and how to implement it in the classroom.

Facilitation and support are provided by serving school leaders and the Julian Teaching School Hub, guiding you to strengthen your expertise, helping you to support teachers in your school to expand their skills.

What's in it for my school?

Your organisation will benefit from a professionally aware and evidence-informed leader with the practical capability to get on with the job of developing others, and leading a team's improvement in teaching, learning, curriculum, and assessment.

Why TDT?

We believe in TDT's core values and think they resonate with our own.

SMART: we think about what he evidence tells us, but we also really care about how things are done.

HEART: it's not just taking the evidence base and implementing it any old way; it needs to be done in the right way if you want to have that sustainable impact.

HUMBLE: we recognise that there is no single perfect answer to any situation - participants will come from different environments, different schools different contexts - and we need to understand the limits of what the evidence tells us at times and use our judgement.
