Update: registering for the ECT programme

News from Ambition Institute.

In response to lessons learned from last year's updated registration process, DfE and Ambition Institute have made some changes to ensure that signing up for the ECT programme is smoother and barrier-free. Changes are as follows:

  1. In order to better align with DfE and appropriate body guidance, Ambition will no longer use the term Induction Coordinator. This role will now be known as the Induction Tutor. You can find the Induction Tutor role description in the statutory guidance, here (section 5.6, page 45).
  2. For September 2023, we will no longer be asking you to tell us the name of your school's Induction Tutor. Instead, Ambition will pull this information from the DfE's digital service, Manage Training for Early Career Teachers. Please therefore ensure that this information is up to date; if you have a query about your school's named Induction Tutor, please contact the DfE directly.
  3. Induction Tutors will receive an email in early July inviting them to register their ECT(s) and mentor(s) on the DfE digital service. They will also receive an email asking them to confirm their partnership with Ambition Institute - please do not click 'reject' as this will significantly delay the process.

If you wish to sign up for the ECT programme delivered by the Julian Teaching School Hub in partnership with Ambition Institute, please let us know by completing this form no later than Friday 23 June. Please do this even if you have worked with us previously on this programme.

If you have any questions, please get in touch - we'll be happy to help.
