Why the NPQLT might be the perfect fit for you!
The National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching is ideal if you are aspiring to have responsibility for leading teaching in a subject, year-group, key stage or phase; or want to be the best classroom practitioner you can be.
If you… aspire to step into a middle leadership role this is a great qualification as it will provide you with the skills to lead people and teams, creating change and impact within your setting.
If you… are a secondary school teacher this is a great qualification for when you start to work towards a second in subject or faculty role. The course will allow you to embed research-informed approaches to teaching and learning in your practice, while developing problem-solving strategies and efficient leadership skills.
If you… are a primary school teacher this is a wonderful way of taking on greater responsibility within your setting to support and guide curriculum development and whole school professional development. A lovely stepping stone to joining your school’s SLT.
If you… have finished your ECT induction and are looking for your next development step, then this is a great place to start. The NPQLT allows you to continue your journey towards developing knowledge and understanding of how to apply the evidence on what makes effective teaching, learning and curriculum and assessment.

Through the Julian Teaching School Hub and the Teacher Development Trust (TDT) you will have access to a blend of face-to-face sessions and online learning. The learning is chunked into three themes which are delivered over 12 months. You will be supported by experienced and knowledgeable facilitators and have access to a bespoke online learning platform, as well as developing valuable relationships with your peers on the course.
