Welcome, Early Career Teachers

We're excited to welcome early career teachers to the profession at the start of the new school year.

The start of a new school year is always an exciting time — and for all of us here at the Julian Teaching School Hub, this September is more exciting than usual, as we welcome our very first cohort of early career teachers (ECTs) to the Ambition Institute Early Career Teachers programme.

We kicked off the term with a repeat of our Induction Coordinator and Mentor conference, which we first delivered in July. It was great to see the commitment to supporting colleagues at the start of their careers from a cohort of dedicated coordinators and mentors. A full day of virtual training can be challenging, but the enthusiastic engagement in the conference continued right until the end of the day.

Next week we get to meet the first cohort of our 140+ early career teachers for their induction conference, and we're so excited to get to know them as they start their teaching journey. The right support is vital to teaching success and the structure of the Ambition Institute programme provides this support not just to ECTs, but to their mentors as well.

We can't wait to see what the coming months bring!
