An update on social media
Letting you know where to find us.
As we draw another academic year to a close, we have been reflecting on our social media presence, and how our choice of platforms aligns with our values.
For eight years, we have been fortunate to be part of the education community on X/Twitter. Over the last 12 months, we have seen many members of that community move away from X to other platforms. We ourselves have established a presence on Bluesky and LinkedIn.
We are now at a point where engagement on X is dominated by bots, and meaningful discussion is increasingly rare. Not only this, but as an organisation that strives to live our values, it is also difficult to justify remaining there when doing so compromises our ethics and beliefs.
We acknowledge that it is a privilege to have a choice of platforms, and to be able to pick and choose where we post. Not everybody shares that privilege. We will not delete our X account as those who remain on X deserve to have access to past content, should they find it useful. However, we will not be posting there going forward.
Thank you for your support and friendship; please do come and find us elsewhere - maybe even irl?!
