For schools participating in the ECT induction programme.

Funding for Early Career Teacher Entitlement (ECTE) year two – time off timetable (5%) and mentor support (20 hours):

  • This will be paid directly to schools at the end of year two of the ECTE.
  • Schools do not need to do anything to receive this funding apart from fulfil their obligations under the ECTE: payment will be made automatically using data from central DfE databases and Appropriate Body induction records.
  • Amount payable:
    • £1,100 per ECT
    • £700 per mentor
    • Total £1,800

Funding for mentor training – up to 20 hours of training over one year:

  • This will be paid in one instalment at the end of the academic year in which the training takes place.
  • ECTP training providers will submit evidence of mentor engagement at the beginning and end of the programme.
  • Each mentor will only be funded once.
  • Amount payable:
    • On receipt of evidence that the mentor has started the training programme: £144.34
    • On receipt of evidence that the mentor has engaged with no less than 75% of the training programme: £577.34.
