The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) is offering free access to Embedding Formative Assessment, a professional development programme that has demonstrated a positive impact on secondary school pupil attainment. 

Delivered by SSAT, the programme aims to embed the use of formative assessment strategies to improve student outcomes. Schools receive detailed resource packs to run monthly workshops, known as Teacher Learning Communities (TLC), and teachers conduct structured peer observations focusing on the use of formative assessment techniques.

A previous EEF-funded trial ran across 140 schools, where students receiving the intervention made the equivalent of two months’ additional progress on their Attainment 8 GCSE scores.
