Claudia - drama teacher
Claudia joined Notre Dame High School as a School-Centred Initial Teacher Trainee (SCITT) in Drama.
With a passion for her subject due to her experience in the West End, Claudia quickly became a valued member of the drama team. She was guided by her mentor, Jo who recognised her potential as an outstanding trainee.

After her ITT year Claudia felt that she had built a strong bond with the school and, even though there was not a vacancy for a drama teacher, accepted a job as a full-time Learning Support Centre Assistant in the school.
In the following year an opportunity became available for Claudia to teach Drama and English, allowing Claudia to complete her ECT Induction Training with the Julian Teaching School Hub.
Claudia has quickly established herself as part of the Notre Dame community, leading on the production of Shrek the Musical in 2023.
Claudia demonstrates how Initial Teacher Trainees benefit schools by flexibly fitting into job opportunities that arise; and how schools can utilise expertise in multiple areas.
